International Technology Standards Programme (ITSP)
Overview
Standards New Zealand invites applications for limited financial support to assist eligible New Zealand representatives to participate in approved international standards meetings.
This support is provided under the Boosting New Zealand Participation in International Standards Committees project and is intended to enable effective New Zealand engagement in high‑value international standards forums, including plenary meetings, working groups, task groups, workshops, and standards development meetings.
Funding is contributory only and does not cover the full cost of travel or attendance. Applications must clearly demonstrate national‑level value, including how attendance will strengthen New Zealand’s influence in international standards, support regulatory or policy readiness, build national capability, or support the safe adoption of emerging or critical technologies.
Successful applicants will be required to share knowledge gained and submit a brief post‑meeting report to Standards New Zealand.
Why your views matter
Participation helps ensure New Zealand’s interests are represented in the development of international standards that can influence regulation, policy, markets, and industry practice.
Support is targeted to meetings where in‑person participation will materially improve New Zealand’s ability to contribute, influence outcomes, and build national capability in emerging or strategically important areas.
