We are consulting on DZ SNZ 3404:2026 Durability requirements for steel structures and components

The proposed DZ SNZ 3404:2026 standards was prepared by P3404 - Revision Group.

The DZ SNZ TS 3404 Committee is pleased to present the fully revised and updated Durability Requirements for Steel Structures and Components standard, previously designated as SNZ TS 3404. 

This document has now been elevated to a full standard level, as Part 3 of the NZS 3404 Steel Structures Standard series, with Part 1 relating to design and Part 2 as commentary. NZS 3404.3 has been fully aligned and is compliant with globally recognised standards such as the AS/NZS 2312 series, AS/NZS 5131, ISO 12944, and others. 

The Committee now invites public comments on this standard. We welcome the opportunity to ensure it is a practical, easy to use, and readily understand document for everyday use by practitioners. 

This document is a proposed New Zealand standard under the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015. Issued as a draft in this form, it provides the required statutory opportunity for consideration and comment by the bodies and persons having an interest in the technical specific.
