We are consulting on 16 adoptions of the following IEC publications and one local amendment which are proposed to be published as AS/NZS standards and amendments.

Local amendment to existing AS/NZS Standard:

• Amendment No.1 to AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2025

The proposed AS/NZS standards and amendments were prepared by Joint Technical Committee EL-002 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances and small power transformers and power supplies.

• Aligning and maintaining pace with the latest international best practices and requirements will avoid the risks to the public and workers using electrical appliances.
• The proposed adoptions of relevant IEC publications for electrical appliances are either identical adoptions or modified adoptions which include Australian and New Zealand national variations.
• Additionally, the proposed national amendment is developed by EL-002 to mitigate identified safety issues in the current AS/NZS standard.
