DR 25043 CP Amendment No.1 to AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2023 (EL-002) (Public Consultation)

Overview

We are consulting on the following draft amendment to mitigate identified safety issues in the current AS/NZS standard.

Amendment No.1 to AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2023 Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2.21: Particular requirements for storage water heaters.

The proposed amendment to the standard was prepared by Australian/New Zealand Joint Technical Committee EL-002 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances and small power transformers and power supplies. 

The original draft amendment DR 24045 CP Amendment No.1 to AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2023 was available for the public to comment from 21 October to 16 December 2024.

With additional technical changes in relation to the subclause 27.1 (Provision for earthing), the draft amendment was updated as DR 25043 CP Amendment No.1 to AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2023. This updated draft is available for the public to comment from 22 April to 17 June 2025.
