ITSP P5002A IT Governance and IT Service Management Standards
Overview
International Technology Standards Programme Internal Standards Adoptions for Public Consultation
In an increasingly digital and interconnected world, international standards play a vital role in supporting safety and trust while enabling innovation, productivity, and interoperability across products, services, and systems.
Standards New Zealand was commissioned by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to ensure New Zealand keeps pace with global developments and actively shapes the standards underpinning emerging technologies.
In support of this, Standards New Zealand established the International Technology Standards Programme (ITSP) to strengthen New Zealand’s influence in the development of international standards and promote their adoption domestically. New Zealand experts contribute directly to this work, ensuring that adopted standards reflect national priorities and are practical for local use.
Adopting international standards improves alignment with globally recognised good practice, enhancing quality, safety, and reliability. It also supports international collaboration and market access by providing a common technical framework.
ITSP established five review committees to determine if these collections of international standards should be adopted for New Zealand’s local use. We are now seeking public feedback on the standards reviewed by the following committees to inform us if any of these standards should not be adopted, and if not why.
- P5002A IT Governance and IT Service Management
- P5002B Security Devices and Biometric Technologies for Identity
- P5002C Information Security, Cyber Security and Privacy Protection
- P5002D Artificial Intelligence
- P5002E Quantum
