PAS 6014 Residential solar photovoltaics (PV) and battery storage systems guideline
Overview
Overview
We are consulting on the draft DZ 6014 Residential solar photovoltaics (PV) and battery storage systems guideline.
What is the PAS about?
This document has been prepared as guidance and is published as a publicly available specification (PAS).
The PAS will be used by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to provide good practice advice, information and guidance on solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems.
It introduces the concept of solar technology, explaining the different types of systems; their respective key components and how they interrelate.
The guideline provides valuable advice to homeowners’ on choosing an appropriate solar and/or battery-storage system aligned with their specific needs. It explains the regulatory requirements for installing and connecting a solar system to the electricity grid, as well as explaining what the homeowner needs to know - to sell surplus electricity back into the system.
EECA also intends to use this document for the solar PV equipment sector, including installers of solar powered energy systems, through compliance with a technical specification section (Appendix B), which outlines acceptable standards, and other related solutions for the various systems outlined in the PAS.
We look forward to hearing your feedback and encourage you to take part in the public consultation process and have your say. We understand that there is a lot of information to digest and to consider in the new draft publicly available specification, but your view is both encouraged and appreciated.
